I finally have my BFA in digital art! Sadly I learned nothing, seriously. Research your college carefully before enrolling especially if you've spent a lot of time learning on your own!
On a positive note, I've been exhibiting my non-digital work for about 3 years now. I just had my most successful show to date, Artomatic@Frederick (Frederick, MD). I sold 16 pieces, the most in any single show! As a result of the show I may have another exhibition opportunity in Maryland too.
I love the way people react to my art. At the AOM@Frederick show, so many artists initially looked down an my eclectic mix of work as there aren't many mediums I won't work in. Since I displayed a full range of work (2D, 3D, a range of themes) my display was not nearly as cohesive as, well, anyone else's. However many of the artists informed me, towards the end of the show, that my work created a lot of buzz and people spent more time at my display than nearly any other in the building (300+ artists in total). Not to sound snobby but that didn't surprise me. Given the range of works in my area, people would have to pause longer to take it all in. Being a self-produced artist rather than a gallery artist gives me the freedom to be different and I take full advantage of that.
I don't keep my DA profile as up-to-date as I keep my website & Facebook page so please take a look at those. I have a *lot* more art there than here at the moment.
